Boasting approximately 50 countries to discover and offering up a diverse selection of cultures and landscapes, Europe is filled with a number of remarkable cities and stunning stretches of wilderness. Cited as the birthplace of western culture, it forms one of the seven continents of the world and is surrounded by the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans, and the Mediterranean and Black Seas.
Due to its close proximity to the UK, Europe is an ideal travel destination for those looking to escape on a short break. Indeed, offering up a number of different locations, all sited within a few hours of Britain, there’s a wealth of exciting cities and environments to explore.
With so much to choose from, though, it can be hard work figuring out which part of Europe to head to. However, offering up some of the best cultural treats in the world, as well as a superb range of iconic landmarks and sights of interest, the major capital cities are a great starting point.
The world’s top tourist destination, Paris is a definite must-see. Home to a huge array of cultural attractions like the Louvre and Eiffel Tower, the French capital also offers up a packed annual events programme. Due to its unique charm and famous sights, over 30 million people flock there each year.
Amsterdam, on the other hand, is ideal for those looking to take some time out and escape from the hustle and bustle of the larger cities. Filled with a jumble of canals, parks and quirky architecture, there’s a lot to discover in this historical capital city. The Museum Square is the site of Amsterdam’s most influential museums and, as such, is well worth visiting.
When you go to book your trip to Europe, whether it be to one of its lively capital cities or a more remote part of the countryside, there are a number of travel options to chose from such as flying, driving, or taking the ferry. However, because of the advantages to be had, it can often be a good idea to travel by train.
In fact, eliminating the need for having to make stressful travel arrangements, the train can help you to maximise your holiday time. For example, you can choose to travel by day, where you’ll get the opportunity to soak up the stunning scenery as you journey throughout Europe, or at night, where you can sleep in comfort and arrive at your destination fully-refreshed.
Not only that, but with a lot of the trains reaching speeds of up to 186 mph, you can reach many parts of the continent within a few hours of leaving the UK.
Owing to the many enticing Europe travel deals on offer, millions of people head there every year. There’s a wealth of cultures and landscapes to explore and with accessible travel options like the train to choose from, everyone has the opportunity to discover all that’s on offer, regardless of whether they’re looking for a luxury or budget holiday.

So you’re planning a sojourn to the gorgeous city of Cape Town and pondering what to take to the world’s most beautiful place?
The answers are simple.
Packing your suitcase should be easy if you follow these tips.
Cape Town is renowned for its “Cape Doctor” wind so you should take along a warm jacket and some fluffy socks. On that note, don’t be afraid to be yourself so, yes, you can take those plaid pants your partner does not like – Cape Town’s going to love you for them anyway.
Get your bikini or your brightest baggies out, for when you visit the cosmopolitan beachfront of Camps Bay. A favourite destination for tourists and the elite, Camps Bay boasts a magnificent palm-fringed sandy beach.
Don’t forget your sunglasses for your Cape Town trip, to help shade your eyes on sunny days, whilst meandering on Clifton Beach. With its white sands and glistening water, it’s no wonder the trendy spot has acquired Blue Flag status.
When venturing to the brightest star on the tip of the African continent, don’t forget to pack your very finest. Cape Town’s nightlife is diverse and buzzing with variety. A plethora of restaurants, cocktail bars, clubs and lounges abound, to tempt your tastebuds and get your feet tapping on the dancefloor.

I love theme parks and always have, and I visit them whenever possible since I live in the theme park Mecca here in the Orlando area. You probably enjoy them too if you are reading this article, but you may not realize what great Disney World dining is actually available to you at the 4 Disney parks.
Now, it really depends on whether you are interested in something quick or a true sit-down meal, and there are tons of choices, so I’ll go over a few of the ones that I have enjoyed in the past. So let’s get started.
If you are looking for a quickie meal where you just go up and order, sit down and eat in the air conditioning, then leave after you are feeling refreshed again, you can choose Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom. They serve such things as chicken, burgers, kosher choices, and similar. I actually really like the chicken. It is served with what are normally surprisingly good mashed potatoes.
The Liberty Tree Tavern is a good choice if you happen to be in Liberty Square and decide it’s time to get some dinner. They have an excellent pot roast or turkey plate. Some say their Butter Griddled Pound Cake is the best dessert in the Magic Kingdom.
Tony’s Town Square on Main Street is an Italian restaurant that is great for lunch but a bit pricey for dinner. It is cool and comfy and very relaxing, and you will love the baked ziti.
Over at Hollywood Studios you should try the Hollywood Brown Derby. American food featuring chicken, pasta, pork chops, salmon, and steak. There is also Mama Melrose’s Ristorante if you feel like Italian, or the 50’s Prime Time Cafe for comfort food which is a really fun place to eat.
Moving on over to Animal Kingdom, you must eat at the Rainforest Cafe at least once, especially if you have young kids. They will just love it. You’ll probably pay 10 bucks for a burger, but the elaborate re-creation of a rain forest is amazing. The walls and ceiling are a 3-dimensional jungle of plants, trees, and waterfalls interspersed with robotic elephants, gorillas, and other animals that come to life every 20 minutes when the entire restaurant is struck by a thunderstorm. The menu has your usual American fare of beef, chicken, burgers, pork, salads, pasta, pizza, salad, wraps, and sandwiches. If you want to go with little to no wait, stop in for breakfast.
If you are looking for great vegetarian choices try the Tusker House buffet. They have some good choices including a flavorful spiced tofu.
Epcot has many excellent restaurants, but be sure to call ahead to see if you need reservations. Sometimes they are booked ahead weeks or even months. So do check with them if you have your heart set on a particular place to eat. Every country features a restaurant, and most are really good. I particularly enjoy Le Cellier, a steakhouse in Canada. But if you want a walk-up counter service and if you enjoy fish and chips, do not miss the Yorkshire County Fish Shop. So good! While you are waiting in line, have your mates check around for a place to sit down and eat. That is the only downside, lack of seating. But it’s worth it. I love this place. I almost never miss stopping in when I visit Epcot.
Also, the coffee is usually fairly good at the coffee kiosks set up here and there around Epcot.

When it comes to booking a holiday, there’s one thing that many people are concerned with – cost. What with everything involved in the booking process – flights, hotels, food and entertainment – the costs can really add up, and it isn’t long before a relaxing holiday turns into a stressful nightmare.
However, by doing some simple planning beforehand, you could turn your holiday troubles into a far easier experience. It’s really not that difficult to organise your holiday quickly and easily, providing you prepare properly – and that’s also one of the keys to saving on your trips away.
For example, staying on the ball when it comes to changing rates in taxes and charges, like how VAT in the UK is rising in January, could mean that you get to save if you make your arrangements before this rise occurs. It may not seem like a big deal, but when you add up your costs for everything you pay for when booking your holiday – like flights, hotels and insurance – and that’s before you’ve even left – it’s easy to see how costs mount up.
So what other ways are there of saving once you’ve made the decision to book before the VAT rises in a few months? Most people know that booking in advance is always a wise decision – but is it always?
There are a huge amount of last minute deals that could save you massive amounts of cash, should you be flexible enough to purchase last minute holidays. When airlines and hotels need to sell holidays fast, they’re liable to slash their prices and pass on great savings to the customer in the hopes of filling more seats and rooms that would otherwise be empty. You could end up bagging a fantastic bargain for a winter sun holiday in Cyprus or South America just by keeping your eye on the ball and preparing to be flexible with when you travel – even if it means heading off the day after tomorrow.
Of course, you may find you get a taste for finding cheap holidays, in which case you’ll be able to make the most of all the savings you’ve made by putting the spare cash into your next holiday fund! After all, it’s important to treat yourself every now and then, and a last minute deal could mean you make the savings that allow you to do so – just don’t forget the multi trip travel insurance!
