Vacation in Bali, Indonesia can be a relaxing and rewarding experience – however, a few simple bits of advice can make all the difference between a good vacation experience and a great vacation experience. Known for its laid back atmosphere, playful dolphins and reasonable costs, Lovina is one of north Bali’s most popular tourist draws. Here are a few useful tips to make sure you get the most out of your stay in Lovina:

1. Dolphin sighting trips are one of the biggest tourist draws in the area. Expect to be offered trips from numerous tour operators, although it’s best you arrange such a trip from operators associated with your hotel. While dolphins are very friendly and generally approach passing boats, they are still wild animals do not perform on cue – it helps to keep an open mind and be patient on these trips. When the dolphins do come though, the experience is something you will never forget.

2. Consider visiting Lovina in the off season. Bali can get very crowded on the tourist season which typically runs during the summers and in the Christmas and New Year holidays. Visiting Bali outside the peak seasons when the tourists are away will get you discounts on everything from hotel accommodations to activities and outings. This will help you achieve mega-savings when staying in Lovina; a town already cheaper than most of south Bali.

3. While there is no shortage of transportation options when staying in Lovina, the humble bicycle is often the best way to experience Lovina Beach. Cycling provides a more intimate mode of transportation and is ideal to traverse the few kilometre stretch of Lovina Beach. While the roads of northern Bali are nowhere near as chaotic as the roads in the south, they still need some getting used to. Give yourself enough time to acclimatize to the seemingly unpredictable traffic patterns if you’re planning to cycle on the main road.

4. Bargain for better rates! Have a little chat with the front desk staff. In many of the smaller hotels and guest houses in Lovina this can get you significant discounts on room rates. This is especially effective during the off-season when hotel operators are eager to fill vacant rooms.

Situated in Bali’s north shore, Lovina is known for its peace, friendliness, beauty and affordability. Among the things to see and do in Lovina are dolphin watching, scuba diving, snorkelling, waterfalls, hot springs, beaches and ancient temples. Ever wanted to own your own slice of tropical paradise? It’s time for a vacation and you should be the big part of it ! Look for some very exciting ads or articles, wherever you may find them, which can give you the facts about some very beautiful environments, you can also personally afford visiting. It is so easy, to get out of your home, following the route, worked out by your local travel agent. Some hours later you can already easily arrive. You should really find out, what are the attractions in this area and get some hints about good restaurants close to your hotel, or addresses for big shopping centers, movie theatres – you name it. So, when you are done in the late afternoon with your daily swimming, surfing and sunbathing, you have still more left to experience.

How do you now wisely choose your travel destination correctly, so you get to the right place?

You should go and view from outside several travel shops and find out, if they look for you attractive enough,so you would like to arrange your travel with them. Maybe I’m a bit picky, but for me plays the decoration in a travel shop somewhere a big role. Because I’m comparing their used imagination, with their ability of having (or not) some incredible travel offers available. I always make my personal travel arrangements only in a very attractive place, where I can feel the real thrill and can get really spiny about Hawaii, Acapulco Mexico, or whatever my biggest dream might be. But I do not say “more expensive” ! In such a store you will much more easily find the destination you really like, and all the needed arrangements fit just perfectly together, so as the price might be completely fine as well.

Don’t hesitate or play around, with booking, buying or paying it the same day !

The best place, the most beautiful room to the right time are available right now, so why slip away trying to come out, because of booking and paying a bit later. It might not be available anymore and you can feel bad, because of that. For an entire year you might be stuck, not have gotten your most desired hotel room. You should talk a bit with your family already during the year, where they would like to go for a vacation, or whatever they like most. Then, one day you can surprise them all, with the present of having booked and paid for the special vacation destination of their dreams.

Going on holiday can be quite stressful to organise, especially if you are the most unorganised person ever. Once you have decided where you are going and the transport there are a few small tips to help you cope with the build up to getting there and any problems that may occur along the way.

A lot of people have luggage problems, make sure before you leave you make a list of everything you have in your suitcase, right down to your tooth brush, another good idea is to take a photo of it exactly how it is before you close it. This will help identify it if it becomes lost. Take a photo of the outside too. This is also helpful because on average 1 out of 200 bags go missing. Also do not leave old tags from previous flights on your case, only keep the current one on your case and make sure your name and a contact number is visible from the outside. Although you should have an address with your luggage in case it does go missing and someone finds it. Make sure it’s not visible from the outside just in case somebody does find it. This is telling them that you house is empty. Keep your address inside the case on a piece of paper. A better idea is to use a friend of family members address as then if your luggage does get sent home, it will be with somebody as opposed to be sitting on the doorstep of an empty house.

You must also make sure you have all the valuable things in your hand luggage, for example your passport, money, keys to luggage, any other identification and flight tickets and check this a few times before you hand over your suitcase.

Another idea when holidaying is to buy a holiday guide if you are unfamiliar with the area. Does some research before you go and find out what is good and what isn’t. Also laws are different in different places. So what you may see as acceptable in your country may not be acceptable in another country.

Many flights will also refuse you if you are too drunk, if you are waiting in the airport a very long time don’t get excessively drunk as you may not be able to go on holiday at all. And another thing to remember in the airport is if you leave your baggage unattended it will more than likely get taken away and investigated. It’s a good idea to make sure when checking in that you have only your own luggage on the trolley and you aren’t taking somebody else’s in as well.

And last if you are travelling with children, make sure you give them a note or piece of paper they can keep on them at all times detailing your telephone number, name and where you are staying. Just in case anything does happen, it is more likely that they will be returned to you.

Traveling on a budget means finding a cheap hotel to stay. Location plays a great part in price variation even though it is just within the city. It is for the reason that most of the cheap hotels are very competitive when it comes in offering very affordable prices to the customers.

Most would say traveling requires you to shell out much cash, but little do they know having some knowledge about cheap hotels can save them as much as 50% on the usual rate. That is why it always pays to do a little research beforehand.

Here are some secrets about that you might want to keep if you want to save money:

1. Never lust over something you can not afford, like a luxurious hotel. Three star hotels cost so much more than a two star ones or cheap hotels but actually the only difference they make is just the extra amenities, which I guess are not even of that importance. Getting a service of a porter or a doorman is may only give you a chance spending more so you might want to avoid this as well. Just always remember to stick to the budget you have allotted for the accommodation.

2. Always choose those smaller hotels run by a family for they are the type that attract customers by offering amazing discounts. So if you seriously want to save tons of money, then better put this one on your holiday memo.

3. Want to know when almost surely you can get an off on the rate of up to 50%? Go on vacation in off-seasons. Cheap hotels are usually very much available in these times, Sydney hotels are examples. Unless you want to spend more, go on vacation during a peak season.

4. Consider chain hotels part of your plan. Those are the ones that often offer a range of rooms to cater for every want and need. No need to confuse yourself of what they offer since chain hotels normally have smaller rooms that you can choose which, of course, are cheaper then there are the larger and more luxurious rooms which, obviously say you need to pay more.

5. Take advantage of the technology. When was the last time you checked the internet? If you have not, then maybe this is the perfect time you do. Do a little search on the hotel rates of the cheap hotel of your choice and see if they can give you a discount. Sometimes online offers are far better than phone or face-to-face negotiations.

6. And don’t ever for get this one. Always ask individual hotels for any discounts or any existing special offer they have, or maybe a free night for those who will stay for a week or so like some of Sydney hotels offer. You will never know until you ask.

Many people are seeking out this option as it beats spending hours stuck at an airport, limited activities available on a plane and travelling between locations, probably inside a stuffy bus.

A cruise and stay holiday allows you to take the stress out of travelling between locations and arranging different travel arrangements, allowing you to start your holiday straight away when you step on board and not when you get to your location.

There are many destinations to choose from including the popular Caribbean cruise and stay, then there is the beautiful Bahamas, Virgin Islands, Mexico , Jamaica, Haiti Florida and many more to choose from so you can either choose a destination based on a cruise and stay availability or see if a cruise is available for your destination of choice.

You can also find short cruises that go from and return you to Florida so you may enjoy the many ports of the Caribbean. One Caribbean port is Charlotte Amalie which is very popular for its bustling night life spots, great food and duty free shopping.

Another port with making a call at if possible is St Maarten, the part-Dutch and part-French island. Here you will find beautiful soft white sand beaches. St Maarten also offers delicious dining, exciting nightlife, friendly and safe atmosphere and a huge mix of cultures to meet and experience. St Maarten is only 37 square miles yet has over 80 different nationalities present.

Most of us, when planning for our annual summer holidays, think the worst that can happen is getting badly sunburnt, a spot of sunstroke, or a bad case of the runs! But what many of us don’t realise is that our favourite European resorts are increasingly being inhabited by creatures that have a nasty sting or bite! For some of us, it could be a hospital bed, not a sun bed!

In fact, nearly 5% of all medical consultations in Europe are as a direct result of anti-venom treatment for bites and stings from both indigenous and ‘imported’ animal envenomings!

Sharp and painful facts on some of the more venomous species to be found in Europe include:

Migrating Scorpions!

If you are travelling to the South of France, Spain or Italy, be careful that a scorpion isn’t taking up residence in your clothes, shoes or soft comfortable bedding! A sharp sting from this one’s tail will be pretty painful!

In general, scorpions are not dangerous and usually only produce a painful reaction that does not require treatment. However, some new and more dangerous ‘holiday making’ species that have arrived in imported fruit will give some unlucky travellers hospital treatment and a sting they won’t forget!

Spiders hit the spot in Spain and Italy!

Spiders are a common sight in most European countries, but in a few cases they can be deceivingly dangerous. The black widow, one of the most dangerous species, is leaving her mark in Mediterranean counties, especially Spain and Italy.

Generally found in barns, stables or woodpiles, only the female spider is dangerous to humans – she is easy to identify, as she has two clear red spots on her belly!

Bites from her produce some nasty and uncomfortable results such as intense pain, nausea, vomiting, headaches and in severe cases convulsions! Signs and symptoms progress for up to 24 hours and then gradually resolve themselves. But in some cases, particularly with children and the elderly, infection must be prevented and treated vigorously in hospital!

Snakes in Europe!

Snakes are the most feared venomous creatures in the world. And although the annual incidence of snake bites in Europe is less frequent, it is estimated that in European countries 15,000-20,000 snake bites result in about 50 deaths per year! Lethal cases have been reported in France and in Switzerland, almost 50% of envenomings from non-native species are due to snake bites and about 10% of cases are severe.

Viper bites are the most common, and although vipers may vary in size and appearance, their venom is very similar! Most snake bites occur between May and October and mostly affect men, particularly their upper limbs. So gents, if you decide to take a walk off the beaten track, make sure your feet and legs are covered if you want protection from the unseen fangs of the undergrowth!

Portuguese Jellyfish!

Jellyfish are very common in the clear Mediterranean waters. Recognisable by their coloured ‘jelly float’, the Portuguese man-o-war is infamous for its stinging tentacles which can deliver a lasting and often excruciating sting! Immersing the area stung in very hot water is often the best remedy, followed by soothing calamine lotion and treatment with antihistamines and analgesics to reduce the reaction and pain.

If you are unlucky enough to be stung or bitten, you could face equally painful medical expenses if you don’t have protective travel insurance or international medical insurance cover. Make sure your insurance covers these incidents and extends to the geographical area you are visiting.
